Pray Wisely

"So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between the right and wrong." 1 Kings 3:9

"Wise men talk because they have something to say, fools, because they have to say something." Plato

More than anything I could ask from God, my prayer today is that made by Solomon. Even Solomon's prayer was wise. He understood his weakness, thus asked for strength in that area. One question he asked God was this, "For who is able to govern this great people of yours?" I wonder if he had looked back on the life of Moses? Maybe he realized that even Moses struggled to lead God's people and Solomon needed to seek wisdom. 1 Corinthians 12:31 directs us to "earnestly desire the best gifts." If our earthly father desires to give us good gifts how much more does our Heavenly Father desire to bestow the best gifts upon His children. Today, if you are seeking God, be specific in your prayer.

God, we humble ourselves before You today. We ask that you would remove old things from our lives and replace them with the new! We desire to live a full life in You...help us to seek after the best gifts! Give us wisdom, understanding and discernment. When we speak, we want to have something to say--to help a generation that is lost! Thank you for your unfailing love and grace, in Jesus name, AMEN!
