"God gave Solomon very great wisdom and understanding, and knowledge as vast as the sands of the seashore." (1 Kings 4: 29, NLT)
Oh, you know who I'm talking about. We've all met one. It's the person that will talk or give their opinion on any subject, regardless of what it is. They know more; they've done more. It's the person who thinks they know it all. Or, at least that's the impression they want to leave.
King Solomon was one who had knowledge above the average person, due to the wisdom that God had imparted to him. 1 Kings 4 states, "He could speak about all kinds of plants, from the great cedar of Lebanon to the tiny hyssop that grows from cracks in a wall. He could also speak about animals, birds, small creatures, and fish". And, not only could he speak on any subject, Solomon spoke with authority. That meant he was confident about his information.
Teaching others what we know can be a wonderful and useful gift. Sharing our experiences and wisdom with them may help with their current life situations. However, do not become "puffed up" because of your knowledge. Making a person feel stupid will not allow you to appear smarter!
