The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom;
all who follow his precepts have good understanding.
To him belongs eternal praise. Psalms 111:10

What is the fear of the Lord? Mark Roth says, "the fear of the Lord is to be God-conscious."
I think to fear the Lord means to recognize Him as the Creator of all things, to understand that He is all powerful, and to realize that He truly is the Alpha and Omega of this universe we live in. This means that everything happens through Him and nothing happens without Him. Once you begin to realize God's place in your life and your place as His servant, you have taken the first step to gaining spiritual wisdom. If you follow his commandments, your heart will deepen daily with a better understanding of this concept simply by daily practice.
Lord, let us remain conscious of You at all times. Help us to understand the path you have set before us. Give us a better understanding of you each day as we attempt to carry out your commandments. Above any earthly desires, let us gain spiritual wisdom so that we may better serve you in this life. Thank you for all that You are, for both the seen and the unseen. -Amen
