1God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
an ever-present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
3 though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
Selah
and the mountains quake with their surging.
Selah
Psalms 46:1-3
Earthquakes, Oil Spills, Tornadoes, Hurricanes, Flooding, Terrorists, Volcanoes, Stock Market Crashes, and so on and so forth...oh where, oh where does it end? The answer to that is it ends with the coming of our King!
Meanwhile, it is difficult in today's times to feel peaceful. Our Earth is literally giving way and the mountains are falling into the sea! Yet, the Lord says we should find refuge in Him. He is our strength during these times. The media will try to sell you everything to find peace. Nothing will work but God.
The same concept applies to our own personal lives. No matter what storms may befall us, God has given us a place of refuge in Him. It is possible to trust Him enough that you can feel peace even though wars rage at your doorstep. You can find peace in knowing He is holding you in His arms, and He is ready to step into your troubles when the time is right.
I read a fictional story the other day. The story was about a young boy who had to go through a test. He had to endure the test blindfolded. However, when he was allowed to take the blindfold off, he found that his father was sitting beside him all the time. Even though we don't see God sitting beside us, He is always there. He is right there waiting to step in when we need Him. He is ready to hold us when we need comfort. He is ready to heal us when we feel pain.
Trust Him. Find peace in Him. You are not waiting on God. He is waiting on you.
