Zzz . . .

"He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber.
Indeed, he who watches over Israel  never slumbers or sleeps."
(Psalm 121: 3,4  NLT)

Gals, remember slumber parties?  Staying up most of the night---talking, giggling, playing games, and eating junk food.  Ever wondered why they're called "slumber" parties when, most of the time, not much sleeping is done?  When I was young, they were sometimes called "pajama" parties.  That makes more sense---at least there were "pj's" being worn.

God never slumbers or sleeps, and He doesn't even need caffeine.  He's always watching over us.  It's comforting to know, that when we need to talk to Him, we don't have to arouse Him from a deep sleep.  We don't have to wait for Him to have His morning coffee before we can get His attention.

Most of us will lose sleep due to worry or stress.  God wants us to bring our troubles to Him in prayer, lay our heads down and have a peaceful night of rest.  Why should we stay awake when God is already up?  Sweet dreams!

"Now, I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep . . ."
